There are days where I feel like I need a moment to myself to just breathe. Those are the times that I go into my closet and just look around to fully appreciate everything. I view it as my inspiration room, which is something I feel everyone should have!

Lately, my vintage costume obsession has hit a fever pitch.... I just HAD to have this 1960's Handmade Burlesque Costume from TiffLittleFingers on Etsy.

There's a BEAUTIFUL matching bra that is a little too small for my chest (didn't want to chance it), but the belt, armband and choker fit PERFECTLY! Coming from a retail background, I've found myself gravitating to buying more mannequin forms to display these pieces. I love putting together outfit displays... something I really miss about running a small clothing business 😢

Being an (unnatural) Redhead, I OF COURSE gravitate to Emerald Green 💚When I saw this listed, I didn't even hesitate... even though my bank account did 😆

My Favorite Things 1.6: Style Icon Edition

Once in awhile I like to post some things that inspire me such as items I've purchased, seen online, etc. Today I wanted to share some of my style icons! I gravitate towards different styles depending on how I'm feeling, but some of my icons will always stay the same. What's Behind the Elusiveness of "Plus Size Vintage"?

My main goal when opening my business, Carmine & Hayworth , was to open the arena of vintage fashion to EVERYONE! Especially those who didn't think vintage was made for their body type (that used to be me). When I started collecting vintage clothing I would collect dresses/ pieces that I WISHED I could fit into because I didn't think vintage pieces existed for someone like me who doesn't have a tiny waist or hips. It wasn't until I really started doing my research that I found a whole new world, of what I like to call, "Size Inclusive Vintage". The One Phrase That Makes Me Cringe & How We Can Change It...

"I love vintage clothing, but I don't know when I'd wear it" Whenever someone makes that comment to me, my heart breaks a little. The answer is that you can ALWAYS find a time & place to wear vintage! The key is to have CONFIDENCE when you wear something outside of your comfort zone! Even if you're not confident, FAKE IT! Pretend you're playing a role until that confidence becomes the truth! I grew up wearing things, not necessarily vintage, that always caused people to talk, sneer or poke fun at me.
